For this week My son’s (Bubba) favorite book is Fox in Sox by Dr. Suess. But I warn you it is a giant Tongue Twist! I have read it often and still get twisted and stumble over the words.

For my Daughter (Princess), she enjoys Chronicles of Narnia. I am surprised being that she is only 6 but she really enjoys more in depth books.

Of course the youngest little girl (Sunshine) has a short attention span but did sit through most of ABC by Dr. Suess.

Unfortunately All three of the kido’s are sick this week so I went to walgreen’s to get more tissues so I took a look at the ad to see if there was anything else we might need there while i was out and I found that if you bought 3 Triaminic’s (which are on sale for $4.99 each) you get $8 back in Register Rewards plus I found 2 coupons for Triaminic in the paper, 1 was for $1.50 off 1 and the other was $3.00 off 2 so the total was 4.99 x 3 = $14.97 – $4.50 = 10.47 for 3 plus $8 in register rewards so its like paying $2.47 wow can you believe it. I was excited anyway.

Thank you Dave Ramsey! Part 1

My husband and I started the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University in May. It’s a 13 week course and we only have 3 weeks left and to be honest it is way better than I thought it was going to be. I wasn’t really that excited to do it, I wanted to but I was afraid it was going to be boring. It turns out Dave Ramsey is hilarious, he presents this stuff, that is you talk to older people they might say, “Oh, yeah, my grandma used to do that.” or ” I remember a long time ago people used suggest that.” and he presents it in a very comical and simple way. So much of this is like, “Hmmm, that makes sense, how come nobody ever told me this before?” or “Why didn’t I think of that?”. He has you laugh and understanding simple things. Like an Emergency fund, The first thing he has you do is put $1,000 ($500 if you make under $20,000 a year) a side as your (mini) Emergency fund. I never really thought about saving money for times when you car breaks down or you get laid off or any of those what not that catch us off guard and make us say “Oh Crap, where am I going to get the money to pay for that?” in step 3 you will also build your emergency fund up to cover 3-6 months of expenses. What a novel idea, to have money (a lot of money) set side so that you don’t have to stress out and think “Great! Now how am I going to pay for this, I am going to have to put this on a credit card and go into debt for this and make it 10 times worse then it needs to be, you can just say, “Okay, well that qualifies as an “Emergency” so we have that covered.” and then you pay for it and move on. Note : Emergency Fund is not for, “Oh no, I want a new $4,000 couch.” or ” Oh no, I need a pizza and I am out of cash.” Dave Ramsey recommends putting your Emergency Fund in a money market account, you want your money easy enough to get to when you need it but not so easy the pizza man can get it. A money market will also grow (a little tiny bit) while it sits there.

I highly recommend this novel idea, having money set aside for those what ifs that tend to sneak up on us, it is such a relief to know that you have money set aside so you don’t have to freak out because life happens.
